Margaret S. Appleby McCormick was Senator Richard B. Russell's personal secretary from 1936 to 1948. She attended Young Harris Junior College in Young Harris, Georgia, and later graduated from law school. Prior to working with Senator Russell, McCormick taught for two years at Danburg Consolidated School in Georgia, and from 1932 to 1934 was secretary to Senator Russell's brother Robert.
